At Science Based Body, we are committed to providing high-quality research materials. Due to the nature of our products (research peptides and laboratory supplies), we have specific guidelines for returns and refunds to ensure product integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By placing an order, you agree to these return and refund terms.
2. Return Eligibility
2.1 Eligible for Return
Products may be eligible for return if:
- The item is unopened and in its original, sealed packaging
- The return is initiated within 14 days of delivery
- You have obtained Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
- The product has not been exposed to improper storage conditions
- All original documentation and COA are included
2.2 Not Eligible for Return
The following items cannot be returned:
- Opened, reconstituted, or used products
- Products with broken seals or tampered packaging
- Items returned without prior RMA authorization
- Products past the 14-day return window
- Temperature-sensitive items that have been improperly stored
- Custom or special orders
- Products purchased during clearance or final sale
Important: Due to safety and regulatory requirements, we cannot accept returns of products that have been opened, reconstituted, or show any signs of tampering. This policy protects both our customers and ensures compliance with research material handling standards.
3. Return Process
3.1 Request Return Authorization
To initiate a return, you must first obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number:

- Include your order number, item(s) to return, and reason for return
- Await RMA approval and return instructions (typically within 1-2 business days)
- Do not ship products back without an RMA number
3.2 Packaging Requirements
When returning products:
- Use the original packaging if possible
- Include all original documentation and COA
- Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit
- Clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the package
- Use appropriate insulation for temperature-sensitive items
3.3 Return Shipping
Return shipping guidelines:
- Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility, unless the return is due to our error
- We recommend using a trackable shipping method with insurance
- Ship returns within 5 business days of receiving your RMA
- We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping
3.4 Return Address
Return shipments should be sent to the address provided in your RMA confirmation email. Do not send returns to our general business address without RMA authorization.
4. Refunds
4.1 Refund Processing
Once we receive your return:
- We will inspect the returned item(s) within 3-5 business days
- You will receive email confirmation of refund approval or denial
- Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
4.2 Refund Amounts
Refund amounts are calculated as follows:
- Full refund: Unopened items in perfect condition returned within 14 days
- Product price only: Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless we made an error
- Partial refund: May apply if packaging is damaged but product is still sealed
- No refund: Opened, used, or tampered products
4.3 Restocking Fee
A 15% restocking fee may apply to returns that:
- Are not in original packaging
- Require additional inspection or verification
- Are returned after 7 days but within the 14-day window
4.4 Refund Timeline
After refund approval, processing times depend on your payment method:
- Zelle: 3-5 business days
- Venmo: 1-3 business days
Note: Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
5. Damaged or Defective Products
5.1 Damaged in Transit
If your order arrives damaged:
- Document the damage with photos before opening
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
- Keep all packaging materials for carrier inspection
- We will arrange a replacement or full refund, including shipping
5.2 Defective Products
If you believe a product is defective:
- Do not dispose of the product
- Contact us with details of the defect
- Provide batch number and COA reference
- We may request the product be returned for analysis
Verified defective products will be replaced or refunded at no cost to you, including shipping.
5.3 Incorrect Items
If you receive the wrong item:
- Contact us immediately (do not use the incorrect product)
- We will provide a prepaid return label
- A replacement will be shipped at no additional cost
- Alternatively, we can issue a full refund
6. Order Cancellation
6.1 Before Processing
Orders may be cancelled for a full refund if:
- The order has not yet entered processing
- You contact us within 1 hour of placing the order
6.2 After Processing
Once an order is being processed or has shipped:
- Cancellation is not possible
- You may return the order following our standard return policy
- Return shipping costs will apply
7. Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different product:
- Return the original item following our return process
- Place a new order for the desired product

8. Store Credit
In some cases, we may offer store credit instead of a refund:
- Store credit does not expire
- Store credit is non-transferable
- Store credit can be applied to any future order
- Store credit cannot be redeemed for cash
